I am a nationally licensed acupuncturist and certified pilates instructor. I provide these classes to help others discover the deep, core muscle groups that support postural health and maintain a resilience to injury. Once these muscles are strengthened through conscious use in class, they begin working for us all the time, during our daily activities, without our having to think about it. The core likes to do the work it was meant to do, and our bodies respond quickly to it’s activation. It often just needs ‘re-awakening’, since as children our core muscle groups engage naturally. Joseph Pilates understood that a person who works from their core feels better not just physically, but feels more confident mentally, because we become ‘centered’. This work easily translates into everyday life.
